Artist Talk: Ari Serrano
Ari Serrano is a clothing designer I met in our mutual home state of Connecticut. I have been drawn to Ari as an artist for his creative expression in challenging perspective when it comes to clothing and turning "trash into treasure" as he states. He often makes clothes from things and objects that you would think to yourself, "You can't make clothes from that, that's crazy." I feel that is that exactly that mindset in which challenges his drive to create and what makes him such an dynamic inventor.

Another aspect of Ari that I respect is the amount of content he pushes out and it's diversity. I began to follow his work when I was regularly seeing his name behind a constant stream of posts on Instagram. His work ethic keeps me and others excited to see what is coming next. Ari also doesn't stick to one theme within his body of work. He says he creates in this way because if he performs the same idea over and over again it would make him depressed. Creating "wild shit" makes him happy, and is what “feeds him.” Getting the chance to sit down and have such a vulnerable conversation about inspiration, setbacks, and hustle was a treat and I hope that this video about him inspires you.
